City of Joy!! : Part 2

As I am thinking of these days to explore my city, this Sunday 13th March my target was to frame North Calcutta, dwellers of which claim it to be  the original Calcutta. I shall not go into the controversy about which is original and which is adopted with modern style and cultures.

So, I accompanied with a friend and reached Sovabazar near 4.30 pm. We got an auto but upto Sovabazar ghat, before railway gate we had to got down. We understood that this was not a very safe  place to walk by the pathway which led to Baghbazar ghat by side of Ganges.

A local person advice us to avail launch, and it was worth of listening to the person. We waited few minutes for launch to come.

It was worth listening to the person . Sunset , while traveling by launch soothes my eyes.

The name, Bagbazar, is derived from two words put together from old Bengali literature: "bagh" meaning flower garden and " bazaar" meaning market. So it refers to a place where flowers are abundant, though I could not come up with the justice to the name properly.

We reached to Baghbazar ghat and inquired about the time of evening Puja (aarati) . Still then, it had half an hour to start. So we decided to wait at ghat.

At 6pm we went to the premises where pundits worship Ganges as mother by Sandhya (evening) Aarti !! So I found a place for capturing upcoming moments  ..

After 6.15 pm, Aarti has been started. Many people including local-ides and visitor like me were their to  watch worshiping of Maa Ganga.

I do not know it is spiritualism or what but , the calmness at bank of river only with sound of  Ghanta ,smoke of  Dhuno and karpur, and light of Pradip can easily pacify anyone's heart, take you to a different world. Worshiping of Maa Ganga on bank of river in evening left peace in our heart ...Gave positive energy to start a new week with refresh mind !!
